Probably not if they are straight. Aluminum bars exceed the yield
point when you hit rough road at times and take a sag. Look around
and you'll see some bars that are no longer straight across the
horizontal. It is these bars that are just short of failure. I don't
know whether bars that are in original alignment also break. The ones
I have seen all had sagged a little.
