True for solids and solids...
Solutions are defaulted to weight/volume, except for liquid/liquid and
gas/gas solutions, which are vol/vol. Gas/liquid is generally given as
wt/vol, just to keep you confused.

Tom, I think you meant vol/vol for gas/liquid systems. It makes life
somewhat easier because of Henry's law.
