Senior networking guy at AT&T Shannon Labs, and a prominent early adopter
of the Linux FreeS/WAN encryption software <http://www.freeswan.org>. He
was discussing why you *don't* want to give your employees secure network
connectivity from home by putting encryption software on their Microslop
boxes, but rather want to put (Linux-based) smart firewalls between them
and the network. His more detailed explanation:
"When you touch somebody's Microsoft box, you make it unstable. It was
unstable before, too, but now it's your fault."
